Thanks to the EU deputies, the law on professional education does not contain anti-Ukrainian norms – Gerashchenko
The important European integration bill on vocational education No. 13107-d was supported by 285 deputies.
As the co-chair of the European Solidarity faction Irina Gerashchenko reported, it was significantly improved by the second reading, supporting the EU amendments to protect the Ukrainian language.
“The Servants” deliberately tried to push through regulations that would expand the presence of Russian in the educational process, and we stopped it,” the deputy wrote on social media.
The law provides for:
- establish new principles for the development of professional education, how it should be financed and developed.
- everyone will be able to receive professional education at any age and throughout life. This is important in the context of the demographic crisis.
- A new system of financing vocational education is being introduced.
- A new approach to specialized secondary education is envisaged (from 2027 it will last 3 years and will have an academic or vocational focus).
- Vocational education institutions will gain more independence in decision-making.
- recognition of acquired professional knowledge and skills, even if they were not obtained in an educational institution.
- Business and educational institutions will be able to jointly develop education and train the necessary specialists.
- Employers will be more actively involved in the educational process.
- audit of educational institutions.
- The heads of establishments will be selected according to new rules, assessing their management skills.
- Supervisory boards of business representatives will be created in educational institutions.
“We congratulate vocational education on this important reform,” wrote Irina Gerashchenko.
