The Ukrainian Air Force has changed the format of its daily reports on Russian air attacks and no longer provides the exact number of missiles launched by Russia at Ukraine.
Bloomberg writes about this.
The publication noted the change in format after analyzing the Air Force’s social media posts. The last time the number of Russian ballistic missiles was reported in the daily report was on August 8. Then, Russia launched six Iskander missiles at Ukraine, none of which were intercepted by Ukrainian air defenses.
The following day, the Air Force reported only that Russian troops attacked the Odessa region with ballistic, anti-ship, and anti-radar missiles, without specifying their number.
Bloomberg attributes the change in format to problems with Ukraine’s air defense system in intercepting Russian ballistic missiles. Specifically, Ukraine is facing a shortage of interceptor missiles for the Patriot system.
A source familiar with the situation confirmed to the publication that the Air Force’s reporting format was changed for security reasons.
Thus, in new reports, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to provide information about the types of weapons used by Russia, but without disclosing their exact quantities.
