The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Novokuibyshev and Orenburg factories: details of the night operation of the Defense Forces

On the night of October 19, 2025, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck strategic energy infrastructure facilities of the aggressor state. As a result of the attacks, explosions and fires were recorded at oil and gas refining enterprises in the Samara and Orenburg regions of the Russian Federation.
This was reported by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Novokuybyshevsk oil refinery in the Samara region was hit. Powerful explosions and a large-scale fire were observed on the territory of the enterprise. According to preliminary data, the primary oil processing units (ELOU AVT) were destroyed.
Novokuybyshevsk Refinery is one of the leading enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of the Russian Federation. Its annual volume of primary processing is about 4.9 million tons, and the plant produces more than twenty types of commercial products. The enterprise is involved in ensuring the needs of the Russian army.
In addition, the attacks of the Defense Forces of Ukraine were directed at the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant in the Orenburg region. Explosions and a fire were recorded on the territory of the facility. One of the gas processing and purification units was previously damaged.
The Orenburg GPP is considered one of the largest in the Russian Federation. It is capable of processing up to forty-five billion cubic meters of natural gas and over six million tons of gas condensate and oil annually.
It is also reported that a fuel and lubricants base in temporarily occupied Berdyansk was damaged. A fire broke out at the site of the explosions, the extent of which is being determined.
The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to implement a set of measures aimed at destroying critical enterprises involved in providing military logistics and the military-industrial base of the Russian Federation. The goal is to deprive the aggressor of resources to continue its armed aggression against Ukraine.
By the way, on the night of October 19 , a series of drone attacks hit a number of Russian regions , including the Samara and Orenburg regions. As a result of the strike in the Orenburg region, a gas plant caught fire, and in the Samara region, an oil refinery in Novokuybyshevsk came under fire.
It was previously reported that the operation to destroy part of the refinery’s facilities was carried out by the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine together with the Black Spark rebel movement . The plant in Kirishi has been attacked for the third time this year. Each time, the consequences for Russian oil refining become more and more painful.
