The Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Syzran Oil Refinery in Russia: the General Staff revealed the details

On the night of August 15, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out fire attacks on a number of important facilities in Russia.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Ukrainian units struck the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region of the Russian Federation. It is one of the largest in the Rosneft system and produces a wide range of fuels, including gas turbine fuel for aircraft.
The plant supplies the aggressor’s army. After the refinery was hit, a fire and explosions were recorded.
It is known that this is the third attack on this plant – the first two were in 2024 and in February 2025. Then the central GDU6 unit was seriously damaged.
“The command post of the 132nd separate motorized rifle brigade of the 51st army of the Russian Armed Forces in the city of Yenakiyeve, which is in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region, was also hit by fire,” the General Staff noted.
As reported, on the night of August 14 , units of the Unmanned Systems Forces and the GUR, in cooperation with other components of the SOU, struck the Volgograd Oil Refinery, which supplies the Russian army.
It is worth noting that on Thursday, August 14, the Ukrainian military struck the seaport “Olya” in the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation . This facility is used by the Russians as a logistics hub for the supply of military equipment and ammunition from Iran.
