The Armed Forces of Ukraine conducted an offensive operation and liberated 26 settlements – Zelenskyy

From January to August, Ukrainian forces conducted an offensive operation in the Oleksandrivka direction, bringing 745 square kilometers of territory back under Ukrainian control. The operation resulted in the liberation of 26 settlements across the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, units of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, assault and other involved units participated in the operation.
Zelenskyy reported that Ukrainian military liberated Berezove, Voskresenka, Hrushivske, Zaporizhzhia, Zeleny Hay, Zirka, Zlagoda, Kalynivske, Krasnohirske, Maliivka, Myrne, Novogeorgievka, Novohryhorivka, Novomykolaivka, Novokhatske, Oleksandrograd, Piddubne, Pryvillya, Pryvilne, Rybne, Sichneve, Stepove, Ternove, Tolstoy, Tsehelne and Yalta.
In total, 745 square kilometers of territory were returned to Ukrainian control.
During the operation, Russian troops suffered significant losses. According to the president, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated at least 9,550 Russian soldiers, and more than 6,600 occupiers were wounded. Ukrainian defenders also took Russian soldiers prisoner, replenishing the exchange fund.
Zelenskyy emphasized that the Ukrainian military carried out the offensive operation in accordance with the defined plan.
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy, Chief of the General Staff Ihor Skybyuk, Chief of the State Security Service Oleh Apostol, and Commander of the State Security Service reported to the president on the results of active actions and further steps.
Zelenskyy thanked the Ukrainian military for the result and reported that the Defense Forces continue active actions and are preparing the next steps.
As a reminder, in July 2026, the Ukrainian Defense Forces inflicted some of the largest losses on the Russian army since the start of the full-scale war. In one month, the Russian troops lost about 42,860 servicemen.
