The Armed Forces of Ukraine have completed the seventh training cycle of a NATO-supported project aimed at psychological support of military personnel and restoring their combat readiness. During September-October 2026, 34 field training sessions were held, which were attended by about 1,100 military personnel of various categories.
This was reported by the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The program is aimed at developing the psychological resilience of military personnel in conditions of prolonged combat operations and constant stress. It includes both theoretical training and practical classes on psychological self-help, supporting comrades in crisis situations, overcoming combat stress, and emotional self-regulation.
In addition to group training, servicemen can receive individual psychological counseling.
The General Staff emphasizes that the goal of the project is not only to promote the psychological recovery of military personnel, but also to teach them to maintain their own resilience and help their comrades directly in military groups. It is expected that these skills will help personnel better cope with stressful situations while performing combat missions.
The general coordination of the project is provided by the Main Department of Psychological Support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The practical implementation of the trainings is carried out by the public organization “League of Officers”, which has been working in the field of psychological support for military personnel since 2014.
The General Staff noted that the project, supported by NATO, is part of measures to provide psychological training and support to the Ukrainian military in countering Russian armed aggression.
It was previously reported that several locations for training Ukrainian military personnel are being modernized with the support of the European Union. The project involves improving living conditions, creating the necessary infrastructure, and updating existing facilities.
