The Armed Forces of Ukraine damaged two frigates of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Novorossiysk

Ukrainian forces damaged two frigates of the Russian Black Sea Fleet during an attack on the Novorossiysk naval base in Krasnodar Krai.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the military, after additional analysis, the damage to the frigates “Admiral Essen” and “Admiral Makarov” was confirmed.

The base was struck on March 2, 2026. Experts are currently assessing the extent of damage to the ships.

Analysis of information regarding possible damage to other vessels of the Russian fleet is also ongoing.

The General Staff emphasized that systematic strikes on Russia’s military infrastructure and military-industrial complex will continue until its armed aggression against Ukraine is completely stopped.

It was previously reported that the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a Russian Ka-27 ship-based anti-submarine helicopter over the Black Sea.

As a reminder, Ukrainian forces hit the Russian frigate Admiral Essen during an attack on the port of Novorossiysk on the night of March 2.
