The Armed Forces of Ukraine have repelled 200 assaults by the Russian army since the beginning of the day: where did the most clashes take place?

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information as of 10:00 p.m. on May 8, 2026 regarding the Russian invasion.

In total, 200 combat clashes have occurred since the beginning of this day. The defense forces continue to stop the enemy, destroy personnel and exhaust the combat potential of the occupiers, inflicting systematic fire damage.

The enemy launched a missile strike using one missile, carried out 12 air strikes, dropped 55 guided bombs. In addition, it engaged 4,936 kamikaze drones for destruction and carried out 1,265 attacks on settlements and positions of our troops.

Seven clashes took place in the North Slobozhansky and Kursk directions. The enemy carried out 21 attacks on settlements and positions of our troops, one of which involved the use of a multiple launch rocket system.

In the South Slobozhansk direction, the enemy stormed the positions of our units 12 times in the areas of the settlements of Prylipka, Vovchansk, Lyman, Starytsia and in the direction of Izbitsky, Chaykivka, and Ternova.

In the Kupyansk direction today, the enemy carried out one offensive action towards Radkivka.

In the Lyman direction today, the enemy launched four assaults towards the settlements of Drobysheve, Zarichne, and Lyman.

In the Slavyansk direction, the Defense Forces successfully repelled two attempts by the invaders to advance towards the settlements of Rai-Oleksandrivka and Kaleniki.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy launched one attack in the direction of Tikhonivka.

The defense forces successfully repelled 17 enemy assaults in the Kostyantynivka direction, near Kostyantynivka, Ivanopillya, Pleshchiivka, Illinivka, Rusyny Yar, Novopavlivka, and Sofiivka. One clash is still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsky direction, the enemy carried out 30 attacks. The occupiers tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Novooleksandrivka, Bilytske, Muravka, Zatyshok, Ivanivka, Dorozhne, Rodynske, Hryshyne, Kotlyne, Udachne, Molodetske, Novopidhorodne and in the direction of Sergiivka. Two clashes are still ongoing.

According to preliminary estimates, today in this direction 39 occupiers were eliminated and 20 wounded; a UAV control point, two guns, seven units of automobiles and two units of special enemy equipment were destroyed, one artillery system, seven units of automobiles, one UAV control point and 120 enemy personnel shelters were damaged. 196 UAVs of various types were destroyed or suppressed.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the invaders tried to improve their position three times, attacking in the areas of the settlements of Oleksandrovgrad and Vorone.

In the Hulyaipil direction, there were 13 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Dobropillya, Zlagoda, Zaliznychne, Bagate and in the direction of Staroukrainka and Charivne.

The enemy did not conduct offensive operations in the Orikhiv direction.

In the Dnieper direction, our defenders successfully stopped three assault actions towards the Antoniv Bridge.

There were no significant changes in the situation in other areas.
