Ukrainian Defense Forces have launched a counteroffensive near the city of Pokrovsk in Donetsk region to regain control over key logistical routes.
This is reported by The Economist .
According to journalist Oliver Carroll, citing Ukrainian military intelligence, the operation, according to intelligence, is aimed at unblocking transport routes that are of strategic importance to Ukrainian troops in the region.
Carroll released videos purporting to show Ukrainian troops landing from helicopters in areas Russia considers under its control, but the journalist noted that he had no way to independently verify the authenticity of the videos.
“According to Ukrainian military intelligence, a bold counteroffensive is underway near Pokrovsk to restore key logistical routes. The video I was sent allegedly shows helicopter landings in areas that Russia claims are under its control. The video could not be independently verified,” Carroll wrote.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the army of the aggressor country Russia has concentrated a group of about one hundred and seventy thousand people in the Pokrovsk direction. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyy noted that Ukrainian positions in Pokrovsk are not under blockade.
As a reminder, the enemy continues to gradually penetrate Pokrovsk , increasing its presence with infantry units and increasing pressure on Ukrainian positions.
As reported, the enemy is trying to surround Pokrovsk and advance to the northwest and north of the urban agglomeration , actively using drones and artillery to control the logistics of Ukrainian troops and search for infiltration routes.
By the way, on the morning of October 29 , the Russian occupiers tried to demonstrate their presence in Pokrovsk by installing the tricolor on the entrance ceiling of the city . However, within an hour, the symbol of the occupiers was eliminated.
