Ukrainian drones have struck a powerful blow in occupied Crimea, managing to bypass a powerful air defense system and hit elite dachas in Foros. It was there, according to the Ukrainian side, that representatives of the Russian military and political leadership could be gathering. The attack caused a significant resonance and, according to experts, may affect the security of the Russian “elite” in Crimea.
This was stated by the Chairman of the Council of Reservists of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ivan Tymochko, on the air of Channel 24.
“There is not only the FSB dacha there, but also an elite restaurant, which before the “arrival” posted an announcement that it would not accept visitors because it was booked for serious dignitaries,” Tymochko said.
He emphasized that the drones were able to overcome defenses that are comparable in power to the system that protects Moscow.
“Nevertheless, there is a positive result. But let’s not forget that arrivals are taking place in Crimea constantly and not only restaurants with party nomenclature of the occupation authorities and military-political leadership are being destroyed, but also airfields, warehouses, military units, where the enemy is conducting the process of recruiting and accumulating personnel in order to send them to war in Ukraine,” he emphasized.
Tymochko noted that such strikes are of great importance for undermining Russian propaganda.
“Everyone is discussing this. After all, everyone knows what reverence Putin has for Crimea, he was proud of its occupation,” he emphasized.
According to him, the consequences of this attack will be particularly felt by representatives of the Russian political elite.
“It is very important to find out who was destroyed at these dachas – whether it was the military or politicians, or whether there was a serious regional-level command center of the FSB department there. In any case, we understand that information from the entire southern direction was collected, analyzed, and processed at these dachas,” explained Tymochko.
He added that the Kremlin will try to hide the real scale of the losses.
“In any case, the sense of security for Russian police officers will increasingly disappear even at such seriously protected facilities from both land and sea, like these dachas in Foros. This is no longer an untouched place. This may also lead to changes in the activity of enemy forces in the southern direction,” he stressed.
In conclusion, Tymochko recalled that the Defense Forces had already thwarted the Russians’ attempt to prepare a counteroffensive in Zaporizhia by destroying an important railway line.
“Perhaps those individuals who were to be responsible for replanning, retraining, or offensive actions on the mainland of Ukraine gathered at the dachas. But the very fact that Russian military units occupied the area and how much attention is focused on this place, both here and abroad, makes us understand that something very serious has happened there,” he concluded.
It should be noted that on September 21, in temporarily occupied Crimea , special forces of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine from the “Ghost” unit for the first time eliminated two Russian Be-12 “Chaika” anti-submarine amphibious aircraft at once , and together with them destroyed a multi-purpose Mi-8 helicopter.
At the same time, the representative of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmitry Pletenchuk, reported that the Kremlin is prioritizing strengthening the defense of the occupied Crimea , even at the cost of the security of strategic objects in Russia itself. According to him, the density of air defense systems on the peninsula is growing much faster than around oil refineries in the rear of the Russian Federation, which indicates the special geopolitical importance of Crimea for Moscow.
As a reminder, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recently struck a communications hub of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation in temporarily occupied Crimea .
