The Armed Forces of Ukraine warned about the Russian “Rubicon” near Pokrovskoye: how dangerous it is

The Russian unit “Rubikon” is trying to paralyze the logistics of the Ukrainian military in the Pokrov direction. Its main tactic is to attack with drones not only on the front line, but also in the rear, to complicate any supplies.

This was stated in a comment to “Kyiv24” by Taras Myshak, the senior communications officer of the 59th separate motorized infantry brigade “Steppe Predators” named after Yakov Handziuk.

According to the military, it is this unit that creates the biggest problems with logistics. Right now, enemy UAVs are particularly active: they constantly fly into the rear, trying to complicate any supplies for the military.

“For the last two months, the Russian Rubicon unit has been operating in our zone of responsibility. This is a fairly dangerous, experienced unit of unmanned systems. They create a lot of difficulties in terms of logistics. That is, their goal is not so much to work on the front line as to fly into our rear and try to knock out logistics,” the military officer said.

Myshak emphasizes that the usual security processes are now turning into a de facto special operation. The occupiers have significantly complicated the situation.

“Now it’s actually a special operation. That is, you have to think ahead, you have to scan the sky, electronic warfare, and all sorts of different means of detecting drones, move unnoticed, try to change routes. That is, all this is becoming more complicated,” he explained.

At the same time, the defenders respond to the enemy in a mirror image. Ukrainian Armed Forces drones also fly into the Russian rear, destroying their equipment.

“We are also working in this direction, flying into their rear, destroying their equipment and also making this component more difficult for them,” Myshak emphasized.

Regarding the general situation in the direction, he added that after a relative lull in July-August, the enemy has again intensified assault operations since the end of August.

“Now they are slightly increasing these attempts. That is, since the end of August and the beginning of September, they have been steadily trying to storm every day, trying to advance… Now it’s not so strong, but the dynamics are growing,” the officer concluded.

As previously reported, the Armed Forces of Ukraine thwarted a Russian offensive operation in the Pokrovska and Dobropillya areas . Ukrainian units inflicted significant losses on the occupiers and deprived the enemy of the opportunity to launch a full-fledged offensive in this direction.

At the same time, the enemy continues to draw forces to the Pokrovsky direction . The Russians have accumulated over 100,000 troops on this section of the front.

As a reminder, the Defense Forces of Ukraine cleared Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups that penetrated the city in July.
