The authorities continue to fabricate the case about the “FSB flash drive” and blackmail hostages in pretrial detention centers with multimillion-dollar bails and fines, demanding testimony against Poroshenko – this was stated by lawyer Ilya Novikov on the air of “Pryamoye”.
He reported that the SBI investigators simply organized the drawing up of a fake customs service report in the pre-trial detention center about the alleged violation of customs rules six years ago by Vadim Chuchkovsky, a probation officer who at that time was the deputy head of the fifth President’s security.
At the same time, the protocol lists two people as witnesses, whose place of residence is the address of the pre-trial detention center, Novikov says. That is, these are either employees of the pre-trial detention center, or persons who are held there as suspects. Based on this pseudo-protocol, the court fined Vadym Chuchkovskyi more than 588 million hryvnias.
“It is obvious that the people who planned this story are not interested in Chuchkovsky. The SBI is interested in artificially creating a court decision that they will wave around and say: look, the court established that there was money there. They mean this case, where they are investigating the FSB flash drive and want to say that in March 2019, Poroshenko received money for the elections not from anyone, but from Putin directly,” Novikov said.
“Their problem from the very beginning was that they had the flash drive, but they didn’t have the money. And it’s impossible to create a criminal case with any prospects, to bring it to court, let alone to suspicion or a guilty verdict. They need money, because without it there’s no way. And there’s nowhere to get money. That is, they have something on the flash drive that they call money, although the investigator was obliged to write that these are objects similar to money, because he can’t verify this. Therefore, to solve this problem, they created such an artificial judicial decision,” the lawyer explains.
“A customs inspector came to the pre-trial detention center, when Vadim Chuchkovsky was already a hostage, when this crazy bail of 360 million had already been set for him, and she brought in two citizens as witnesses whose place of residence was the pre-trial detention center address. Most likely, this means that they are sitting there, or they are guards. But this is already illegal, because law enforcement officers cannot be witnesses. This is out of the question,” Novikov states.
“And she drew up a report, absolutely fantastic, where it is written that the fact of smuggling was discovered in the materials of the criminal proceedings. The fact of smuggling is discovered on the spot, for example, if a truck enters the customs territory and there is some contraband in it. Such a report is drawn up about this. This is exactly what witnesses are needed for, because they record that something was really seized there. Nothing was seized in this report. This report says that the customs received a letter from the State Bureau of Investigation, and the State Bureau of Investigation is sure that 38 million euros were illegally imported into Ukraine 6 years ago. And the inspector discovered it, the inspector drew up this report. This report is absolutely crazy. Without a lawyer. They simply came to the person in the pre-trial detention center, took him out of his cell and said: we are drawing up a report on you, that you are a smuggler. And it all went to court,” Novikov explained.
“Everyone understands that the issue is not about Chuchkovsky. It’s about Petro Poroshenko. There are people in the pre-trial detention center as hostages who have been given bail with a specific purpose – to convey to them a clear message that you will sit under these bails until you give evidence against Petro Poroshenko, we are not interested in anything else, we are not interested in you, Chuchkovsky is not interested in us,” notes Ilya Novikov.
“This situation is happening in front of the public. They are simply not afraid. And that is why I believe that our thesis that Andriy Portnov is dead, but his case lives on, has certain grounds. Portnov’s schemes, in their structure, in their idea, when there is a judge and an investigator, there is a prosecutor and everything happens there in this triangle – they work the same way today. This is a situation that they are artificially creating as part of the preparation of new charges against Poroshenko,” emphasized lawyer Ilya Novikov.
As a reminder, the State Bureau of Investigation estimated the extortion of testimony against the fifth President, Petro Poroshenko, at one and a half billion hryvnias .
