The autumn heat is not receding: where in Ukraine will it be warmest and when will frosts hit

The heat will remain in Ukraine in the coming days, with daytime temperatures in some regions reaching +22 degrees. At the same time, drivers should be careful due to morning fog, and frost is possible at night in late October.
This was reported by forecasters Natalka Didenko, Ihor Kibalchych, Vitaliy Postryhan and the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.
When will it start getting colder in Ukraine?
According to Igor Kibalchych’s forecast, by October 25 , the daytime air temperature will be +13…+20 degrees, and at night – +6…+13 degrees. Dry weather will prevail, although light rains are possible in the west of the country on October 22–23 and 26–27. Fog is also forecast on the Right Bank.
From October 26, the temperature will gradually begin to decrease. At night, the thermometer will show +1…+7 degrees, and frosts are possible in places in the northern regions. During the day, moderate heat will still be maintained – +11…+16 degrees, in Crimea the air will warm up to +19 degrees.
“Winds will continue to supply warm air, but from the Mediterranean and the Balkans. We do not expect significant precipitation. The temperature at night is 7…12 degrees, during the day 13…18,” said Vitaliy Postryhan, head of the Cherkasy Hydrometeorological Center.
What will the weather be like on October 21?
On Wednesday, +12…+17 degrees are expected in most regions. In the south and Transcarpathia, the air will warm up to approximately +20 degrees. At night, the temperature will mostly be +6…+11 degrees, and in the Carpathians — +0…+5 degrees.
Light rain is possible in Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava regions and in some places in the eastern regions. No significant precipitation is forecast for the rest of the territory.
Fog is expected in the Carpathian, Transcarpathian, southern, and most central regions at night and in the morning. Visibility may drop to 200–500 meters, which is why a yellow level of danger has been declared.
Forecast for Kyiv and major cities
There will be no precipitation in Kyiv on October 21. At night, the temperature will be +9…+11 degrees, during the day — +13…+15 degrees. Light rain is possible in places in the Kyiv region, and the air will warm up to +12…+17 degrees.
No significant precipitation is expected in Lviv , light fog is possible at night and in the morning. During the day, the temperature will be +14…+19 degrees, and the wind will increase to 9-14 m/s.
Rain is forecast in Dnipro , heavy in places. During the day, the air will warm up to +17…+19 degrees, at night it will be +10…+12 degrees.
No significant precipitation is expected in Odessa , but fog is possible at night and in the morning. The daytime temperature will be +15…+17 degrees.
Light rain is possible in Kharkiv and the region. The daytime temperature is expected to be +13…+15 degrees, and at night — +9…+11 degrees.
What will happen to the weather by the end of the month?
According to weather forecasters, in the coming days Ukraine will remain under the influence of warm air masses from the south. No serious precipitation is expected, but nights will become colder at the end of the month. Residents of the northern regions, where the first frosts are possible, will feel the greatest drop in temperature.
