On the night of February 3, Russia struck the most powerful blow to Ukraine’s energy infrastructure since the beginning of 2026. Electricity generation and distribution facilities came under attack.
DTEK reports this.
Missiles and drones hit CHPs and TPPs operating in heating mode in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro. DTEK thermal power plants suffered the most damage. The company’s energy facility in the Odessa region was also hit – thousands of consumers were left without electricity.
In Kyiv, due to the consequences of the attack, part of the left bank, in particular the Dniprovsky and Darnytsky districts, has switched to emergency power outages. Temporary power supply restrictions are in effect on the right bank.
The power system is operating with serious limitations. Power engineers are restoring power and doing everything possible to stabilize the electricity supply in the affected regions. Work is ongoing.
As previously reported, on February 3, Russian occupation forces again attacked Kyiv. Destruction and fires were recorded in various areas of the capital, and at least three people were injured.
As a reminder, due to the nightly massive attack on Kyiv, the Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts are currently mostly without heat.
