The bodies of thousands more victims have been returned to Ukraine.

Today, October 23, the bodies of a thousand dead, which, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian military personnel, were returned to Ukraine.

This was reported by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Repatriation events were reportedly held today. 1,000 bodies, which the Russian side claims belong to Ukrainian servicemen, were returned to Ukraine.

“Law enforcement investigators, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ expert institutions, will soon conduct all necessary examinations and identify the repatriated bodies,” the statement said.

It is noted that repatriation activities were carried out as a result of joint work by employees of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“We express our gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance. Special thanks go to the personnel of the Central Directorate of the Central Military District of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Joint Center for Support of the Central Military District of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which is transporting repatriated persons to designated state-run specialized institutions and organizing the transfer of the deceased to the Ministry of Health system,” the Coordination Headquarters added.
