The Cabinet of Ministers has introduced additional programs to support small and medium-sized businesses in the face of an emergency energy situation caused by Russian shelling.

This was reported by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.

According to her, the government has adopted a package of solutions that should help entrepreneurs cover additional costs due to emergency power outages and preserve jobs.

The first tool is a one-time financial assistance for energy independence. Individual entrepreneurs of groups 2-3 who work in socially important areas, including catering establishments, pharmacies, coffee shops, grocery stores, and bakeries, will be able to receive a one-time payment of UAH 7,500 to UAH 15,000. The amount of assistance will depend on the number of employees, provided that there is at least one employee.

You can apply through the Diya portal. After verification by partner banks, the State Employment Service will transfer the funds. The money received will allow you to spend it on the purchase or repair of energy equipment, fuel for generators, and payment for electricity services.

The second tool is targeted loans at 0% for the purchase of energy equipment. Businesses that meet the conditions of the 5 7 9% program will be able to receive a loan for generators and batteries at a zero rate. The state will compensate the difference through the Entrepreneurship Development Fund.

Loans will be provided by almost 50 partner banks for a term of up to three years. The maximum financing amount is up to 10 million hryvnias.

The government emphasizes that these solutions should help businesses continue to operate, act as points of invincibility, and maintain employment during the most difficult energy conditions. Details of the programs and their launch date will be announced by the Ministry of Economy in the near future.

As previously reported, the government continues to work to ensure the stability of the state and support people in the face of an energy emergency.

As a reminder, Ukraine’s energy system is in difficult conditions due to intensive Russian shelling and the most severe winter in 20 years. In connection with the emergency situation in the energy sector, the Government has identified a set of measures to overcome its consequences.
