The Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Yevhen Khmara from the post of Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine. The government adopted the corresponding decision on August 19.
This is stated in the Cabinet of Ministers’ order No. 795-r, published on the Government Portal.
The document states that Khmara was released “of his own free will.”
The government’s decision is related to the subsequent appointment of Khmara to the position of Minister of Defense. The day before, on August 18, President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted a proposal to the Verkhovna Rada regarding his appointment.
Parliament is expected to consider Khmara’s candidacy at a meeting on August 19. MPs are also expected to vote on the appointment of Andriy Sybiga as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
It was previously reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed appointing Yevheniy Khmara as Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
