The Energy Headquarters held its latest meeting, during which they identified key areas of work to expedite the restoration of energy facilities damaged by Russian shelling.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky announced this on Facebook.
Koretskyi heard a report from First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal. The meeting was also attended by the heads of key energy companies, including Naftogaz, Ukrenergo, Energoatom, Ukrhydroenergo, Centrenergo, DTEK, and the Ukrainian Gas Transmission System Operator.
Participants reviewed projected electricity and gas balances, taking into account various scenarios for the upcoming heating season.
Particular attention was paid to the pace of repairs to damaged generating capacity and the installation of additional protection at power facilities.
The Prime Minister identified key priorities for the energy sector. These include strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure and building reserve stocks of fuel and equipment necessary for the rapid restoration of damaged facilities.
They also identified areas where work needed to be urgently accelerated, given the intensity and nature of Russian attacks. Following the meeting, the responsible agencies were given corresponding instructions.
“It’s important for energy companies to be proactive and take on additional responsibility,” Koretsky emphasized.
Earlier, Prime Minister Serhiy Koretsky ordered an immediate inspection of all civil defense shelters in Ukraine, with particular attention to their proper maintenance and unimpeded access for the public.
