The Cabinet of Ministers officially confirmed the creation of the Ministry of Communities, Territories and IDPs: details

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has established the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine. The newly created department is headed by Vitaliy Bezgin.

This was announced by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Viktor Mykyta.

According to Mykyta, the new ministry will become a key state body responsible for the development of communities, territories, and support for internally displaced persons.

“For our communities and regions, this is a key and specialized ministry that will help consolidate the government’s efforts and strengthen local capacity. This ministry is headed by one of the country’s best specialists in regional development issues, Vitaliy Bezgin,” said Viktor Mykyta.

He also noted that the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine will become an important partner of the new agency and will facilitate decision-making for the development of communities and regions.

According to Mykyta, the creation of a specialized ministry will make it possible to more effectively coordinate state policy in the field of local self-government, regional development, and support for citizens who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.

“We sincerely congratulate Mr. Vitaliy on his well-founded and well-deserved appointment to a high state position. I am confident that today our state has become stronger,” said Viktor Mykyta.

It was previously reported that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted a resolution on the establishment of a Coordination Center for organizing the reservation of military conscripts for the period of mobilization and wartime.

Subsequently, the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine withdrew the notification on the creation of the Coordination Center for the Organization of Reservations for Conscripts . The department stated that the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers has not yet been adopted.
