The cause of death of Green Grey frontman Andrey Yatsenko has been revealed.

On Monday, October 20, Andrey Yatsenko, known by the stage name Diezel, founder and leader of the rock band Green Grey, died suddenly at the age of 56 .
The cause of the artist’s death was announced by his colleagues on the band’s official Facebook page as heart failure.
“Hello everyone, this is Green Grey (Official)! This is how Diezel always started out when he was with us. But, unfortunately, fate takes the best… This is the official and final message… Andrey Diezel Yatsenko passed away on October 20, 2025, due to heart failure caused by coronary artery disease. 9 Grey and the tireless artist remain in the hearts of an entire generation who grew up with his energy, giving creative life to many young stars,” the statement reads.
The musician’s funeral will take place on October 23 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Cinema House of the National Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine (6 Saksaganskoho Street, Kyiv). The funeral director will be Yevhen Myronyuk.
Green Grey is one of the most famous Ukrainian rock bands of the 1990s, which combined electronica, rock, and rap in its music.
