Are we still a democratic country, or do we already live by the principle of selective justice? After Mindichgate, the President promised a reboot of the power bloc. This sounded like a clear answer to society: the rules would change, the law would cease to be an instrument of pressure.

At the same time, Andriy Yermak is renewing his right to practice law and heading the committee on the protection of victims of armed aggression against Ukraine. Formally, it is about rights, guarantees, and balance.

And now what’s really happening.

Roman Chervinsky’s case in the Kropyvnytskyi court is falling apart. The accusations are not holding up. And this is the moment when the system should back down and confirm its words about a “reboot.”

But instead, a new case appears – already in the Pechersk court. A different plot, different wording, but the essence is the same: to achieve a result at any cost. Even if this requires creating a story about a bribe that did not exist.

And in parallel, another blow is being struck. Pressure on Chervinsky’s lawyer Kostyantyn Globa. An attempt to deprive him of his license. In fact, to remove the very possibility of defense.

And this is what happened today.

At the disciplinary commission of lawyers, thanks to the fact that the meeting was online and public, it was possible to repel Chervinsky’s lawyer – Konstantin Globa. Right during the meeting, it was proven that the applicant’s complaint was not written by her. The applicant herself was present – and it fell apart before our eyes.

A small victory today.

But let’s have no illusions. This is not the last attempt. The lawyer was explicitly given a condition: to give up the Chervinsky case.

That is, it is no longer about the law. It is about removing the defense and bringing the case to the “necessary” result.

And today’s situation has shown the main thing: if it weren’t for publicity, the decision could have been different. Publicity now is not just a tool. It is the only real weapon. And the issue is no longer about one case.

The question is that if we as a society accept this as the norm, it is no longer democracy. And it is up to each of us whether we stop it or wake up to the reality where the law has finally turned into an instrument of pressure – as in Russia or Belarus.

Today we managed to outplay them. But the fight is just beginning. It’s up to you to repost and spread the information.

The case of Roman Chervinsky

On April 20, 2023, the SBU opened a case against Ukrainian military personnel who were planning to hijack a Russian plane. One of them is Roman Chervinsky, a former employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate. He became famous thanks to the so-called “Wagnergate”.

On April 21, 2023, Chervinsky was charged with “exceeding authority or official authority by a military official.” According to the investigation, his unauthorized actions led to the enemy’s missile attack on an airfield in the Kirovohrad region.

On April 24, 2023, the SBU detained Chervinsky. The court arrested him. The ex-spy himself stated about political pressure and falsification of the case.

In December 2023, Chervinsky was charged with attempting to seize $100,000 by impersonating an official of the State Fiscal Service.

In July 2024, Chervinsky was released from pre-trial detention after bail was posted for him by the charitable foundation of the leader of the European Solidarity party, Petro Poroshenko.
