Ukraine is entering a period of drastic climate change, which will significantly change the appearance of various regions in the coming decades. Scientists predict that some regions will become much drier, while others, on the contrary, will receive more moisture and heat. Such trends can radically change the weather to which Ukrainians are accustomed.

This is reported by “Telegraph” with reference to scientist Serhiy Avramenko .

According to Avramenko, the South and East of Ukraine are already moving into a warmer and drier climate zone. Snowless winters, long periods of heat, and lack of precipitation create conditions close to subtropics. If the trend continues, then in 10-20 years part of the territories of the Odessa and Kherson regions may be covered by a semi-desert regime .

The scientist emphasizes: the zone of active hostilities has also significantly changed weather patterns. In 2022-2023, excessive precipitation was recorded there, and in 2024-2025, on the contrary, a severe drought. Due to military factors, soils in some regions are contaminated with toxic substances, which also affects natural processes and local weather cycles.

In general, according to Avramenko, Ukraine has already entered a phase of climate extremes – from long periods of drought to sharp jumps in temperature and instability of precipitation.

It was previously reported that over the next few days, the territory of Ukraine will be covered by rainy weather, accompanied by fog and cloudiness.

As a reminder, the weather in the Carpathians has significantly deteriorated , rescuers have urged tourists to refrain from hiking in the highlands.
