A meeting of the Headquarters for the Elimination of Consequences of Emergency Situations due to the Massive Shelling of Energy Facilities was held in Kyiv and the Kyiv Region. Due to damage to high-voltage substations, emergency power outages are ongoing in most regions, and the coming days will be difficult for the energy system.

This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

During the meeting of the Headquarters, it was noted that the enemy attacked energy facilities in a number of regions, which forced the unloading of nuclear power plants. The loss of capacity created a significant electricity deficit that is difficult to compensate for.

“The electricity supply situation remains extremely difficult. The loss of power due to the night attack has created an additional significant electricity deficit, which is extremely difficult to bridge,” the Ministry of Energy noted.

Restoration work is underway at all damaged facilities. Energy workers are working to restore light and heat to consumers as soon as possible.

Currently, residents of the capital receive electricity for only a short period of time – one and a half to two hours a day .

“Energy engineers are doing everything possible to balance the system, and the city is deploying additional strongholds of invincibility in each district to provide people with support,” the Ministry reported.

Authorities are urging residents to follow safety rules during outages and remain calm in difficult conditions.

By the way, as a result of the missile attack on the Burshtyn TPP, the city of Burshtyn was temporarily left without heat supply, hot and cold water.

As a reminder, on the night of February 7, Russian troops struck Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, in particular substations, overhead power lines, as well as the Burshtyn and Dobrotvir thermal power plants.

Later, it was reported that Russian troops had launched a large-scale attack on key Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities . Main substations, power lines, and thermal power plants were hit. In connection with the consequences of the attack, Ukraine turned to Poland for emergency assistance.
