“The coming winter will be the most difficult”: Russians destroyed transformer substations in Kharkiv

Within two days, the Russian occupiers destroyed two transformer substations that provided Kharkiv with electricity.

This was announced by the mayor of the city, Igor Terekhov.

According to him, the attacks of the occupiers were a serious blow to the capabilities of JSC “Kharkivoblenergo”.

“Looking at the dynamics of attacks, it is already clear that the coming winter will be the most difficult for Kharkiv in all the years of the war,” the city mayor is convinced.

At the same time, as he noted, about 22 thousand subscribers were left without electricity at night, but now their number has decreased to about 3.5 thousand.

Terekhov believes that, despite the limited resources, capacities, and capabilities of the city, Oblenergo, and the country’s power system, the situation remains difficult, as the enemy does not plan to stop striking.

“At any moment, a new attack on critical infrastructure could occur, which in seconds can destroy what we have been creating and restoring for months. And such situations, unfortunately, have already happened more than once in the past and are happening now,” the official added.

As is known, Russian strikes on energy facilities in the Chernihiv region caused a network failure , leaving 307,000 consumers without electricity.

By the way, the situation in the power system of the Chernihiv region has worsened ; despite the restrictions introduced, the networks remain overloaded, so additional outages have been introduced in the region.
