Following a wave of protests, the commanders of the Ukrainian Navy and Airborne Assault Forces expressed support for Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky and called for the army not to be drawn into political processes.

This was stated in Facebook messages by the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy, Alexei Neezhpapa , and the Commander-in-Chief of the Airborne Assault Forces, Oleg Apostol .

Oleksiy Neezhpapa noted that he dedicated 34 years to serving the Ukrainian people and participated in the development of modern naval capabilities, in particular, in the implementation of the Neptune complex, unmanned systems, and the use of Bayraktars.

According to him, the Armed Forces are constantly being reformed, and during a full-scale war, any doubts in the army are unacceptable.

“I believe that only the president, as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has the right to evaluate the work of the commander-in-chief as the head of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” Neizhpapa noted.

He also stated that attempts to incite society during a war only play into Russia’s hands.

Commander of the Airborne Assault Unit, Oleg Apostol, who has been fighting since 2014, emphasized that military command is based on discipline, unity of command, and the personal responsibility of commanders.

“Where discipline ends, chaos begins. And chaos always works for the enemy,” he noted.

Apostol added that substantive criticism of military leadership is permissible, but baseless accusations and public insults only undermine trust in the Armed Forces. He also urged service members not to get drawn into political disputes, emphasizing that the army has always been and remains apolitical.

As a reminder, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Serhiy Koretsky as Prime Minister of Ukraine: 289 deputies voted in favor.

As a reminder, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy decided to dismiss Mykhailo Fedorov from his post as Minister of Defense due to a long-running conflict with the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyy.

As reported, Andrius Kubilius, the European Commissioner for Defence and Space, called Mykhailo Fedorov’s resignation as Ukraine’s Minister of Defence “a big surprise.”

Incidentally, the European Solidarity faction called on Prime Minister candidate Sergei Koretsky to reinstate Mykhailo Fedorov in the new government and entrust him with security and defense matters.

Furthermore, Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force Pavlo Yelizarov submitted his resignation. He cited the possible resignation of Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov as the reason for his decision and warned of the risk of a rollback in air defense reforms .
