The court extended the arrest of the suspect in the murder of Andriy Parubiy: details of the case

The court has extended the detention of a 52-year-old resident of Lviv, who is accused of involvement in the murder of MP and former Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy.

This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the court’s decision, the suspect will remain in custody – without the possibility of bail.

The investigation charges the man with several serious articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

Part 2 of Article 111 — high treason committed under martial law;

Article 112 — encroachment on the life of a People’s Deputy of Ukraine in connection with his state or public activities;

Part 1 of Article 263 — illegal handling of weapons.

The investigation is ongoing under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office.

Recall that on August 30 , public and political figure Andriy Parubiy was killed in Lviv . Later, journalists reported that MP Andriy Parubiy was shot 8 times by a man disguised as a courier.

It is known that the SBU reported on the possible involvement of Russian special services in organizing the assassination attempt on MP Andriy Parubiy.
