The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court extended the term of the procedural duties imposed on former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov for another two months.
This was reported by Suspilne.
It is noted that the prosecutor demanded an extension of Chernyshov’s term of office. In particular, he emphasized the risks of evading trial, as well as influencing witnesses and experts.
“He has a passport, he traveled 10 times during martial law. He has connections related to his position and personal ones, he will be able to evade the court. His mother lives in France, his son studies in Switzerland. Also, last year he indicated the wrong place of residence in the declaration, he indicated that he lives in an apartment on Pechersk. During the investigation, we learned that he lives in the suburbs of Kyiv, in a house of over 1,000 sq. m,” the prosecutor noted.
In return, the official’s lawyers assured that he would not communicate with the parties involved in the case.
In turn, Chernyshov stated that at this stage he was not against extending the terms.
“Hidden cars are nonsense. As for business trips, they are official and agreed upon, there is no need to make inquiries to other countries and shame us. I accept the continuation of my duties,” he added.
As is known, Chernyshov’s current procedural duties include reporting a change of residence, not communicating with the parties to the case, not traveling outside Ukraine, and appearing at the request of the investigating judge.
As a reminder, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office conducted searches at the residence of the current Deputy Prime Minister, Oleksiy Chernyshov .
By the way, the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov in the form of a bail of over 120 million hryvnias . Subsequently, the bail was paid in full , as determined in the ruling of the investigating judge.
It is worth noting that the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court did not remove Oleksiy Chernyshov from the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity.
