The court released Shufrych from custody

The court changed the preventive measure for People’s Deputy Nestor Shufrych in the treason case.

This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Instead of detention, the court ordered the accused to be placed under 24-hour house arrest with the wearing of an electronic monitoring device.

According to the UCP, the court’s decision is not subject to appeal.

As noted, prosecutors emphasized the severity of the criminal offenses charged against Shufrych. At the same time, the prosecution believes that the risks have not lost their relevance.

“The Prosecutor General’s Office objected to changing the preventive measure, as the risks identified in these criminal proceedings have not lost their relevance. That is why the prosecutors insisted on continuing to keep the accused in custody,” the UGP said in a statement.

As a reminder, in January , the Shevchenkivskyi District Court in Kyiv extended Shufrych’s detention until March 2026.

It was previously reported that the Kyiv Court of Appeal allowed People’s Deputy Nestor Shufrych to be released from custody on bail of over 33 million hryvnias.

As is known, Nestor Shufrych and his assistant will be tried for financing the Russian National Guard in occupied Crimea.

By the way, on December 27, 2024, the court announced a ruling allowing Shufrych to exercise his parliamentary powers , since he has not yet been found guilty and has not lost his mandate. At the same time, the court refused to allow Shufrych to participate in the Council meeting physically, but ordered him to be granted the right to exercise his parliamentary powers during his stay in the pre-trial detention center.
