The court sent the organizer of the exhibition attacked by the Russian Federation in the Kyiv region into custody

The Sviatoshynskyi District Court of Kyiv has imposed a preventive measure on the organizer of an exhibition in a private complex that was attacked by Russian missiles on July 24. Vasyl Honcharuk was taken into custody for 60 days without bail.

This is reported by Suspilne.

The court granted the prosecutor’s request, which insisted on keeping the suspect in custody, citing existing risks.

Honcharuk was reported on suspicion of official negligence. According to the investigation, he organized an exhibition at a private complex where representatives of the Ukrainian defense industry were on July 24. That day, Russia launched a missile strike on the location. The attack killed 11 people.

The defense asked the court to reject the prosecutor’s request, calling the detention unfounded. At the same time, the lawyers did not file an alternative request for another preventive measure.

During a break in the hearing, the defense attorneys told reporters that lawyer Andriy Domansky had asked the court to release Honcharuk on bail, citing his public activities.

The lawyers also refused to comment on the progress of the pre-trial investigation. According to them, the defense does not yet consider it appropriate to publicly disclose the details of the case, and all statements and motions are submitted exclusively within the framework of the criminal process.

We will remind you that Russian troops launched a missile strike on a training ground in the Kyiv region , where an arms exhibition was taking place with the participation of representatives of the Ukrainian defense industry.

Subsequently, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported that as a result of a Russian missile strike on the Kyiv region on the afternoon of July 24, ten people were killed and about a hundred were injured.
