The National Bank of Ukraine set the official exchange rate for January 12, according to which the dollar once again set a historical maximum.
This is stated on the NBU website.
Yes, the American currency has increased in price again, this time by 8 kopecks. Its value has exceeded 43 hryvnias.
It is worth noting that during 2025, the value of the US dollar never fell below 41 hryvnias. Currently, one dollar costs 43.07 hryvnias.
In contrast, the euro, having reached its maximum of UAH 50.17, lost 3 kopecks in price.
Recall that the US dollar is experiencing one of its most difficult years in the last decade, and most investors expect it to weaken further in 2026. Despite the temporary stabilization, the market does not believe in the long-term recovery of the American currency.
