“The DRG was preparing a breakthrough into the left-bank Kherson region”: SBU detained a Russian agent
The SBU detained a Russian agent who was preparing a breakthrough of Russian troops to the right bank of the Kherson region.
This was reported by the press service of the Security Service.
As a result of preemptive actions in Kherson, a Russian agent was detained who was preparing a breakthrough of Russian special forces to the right bank of the region. To do this, he was supposed to collect intelligence about the territory and defense facilities near the Dnieper.
After receiving the data, the invaders planned to penetrate the territory controlled by Ukraine.
Next, the enemy was to consolidate its positions until the main forces from the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region approached.
“According to the case materials, the enemy agent who was supposed to spy on this data turned out to be a 37-year-old man from Kherson, who came into the field of view of the Russian game when he published anti-Ukrainian comments in Telegram channels,” the SBU noted.
During the data collection, the Russian agent walked around the coastal area, where he recorded the locations of the SOU. In addition, he asked local residents for additional information under the guise of everyday conversations in commercial establishments.
Investigators informed the defendant of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – high treason committed under martial law.
The Russian agent faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained an instructor major from one of the air brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine , who turned out to be an agent of Russian intelligence. The suspect was preparing strikes on Ukrainian airfields where F-16, Mirage 2000 and Su-24 aircraft are based.
