Starting from September 24, a drastic change in weather conditions can be expected in Ukraine due to the approach of a cold Arctic front.

This was reported by meteorologist Vitaly Postrygan.

“After an abnormally warm September, we are waiting for a real October cold snap. In some regions, the first autumn frosts are possible,” the forecaster noted.

According to him, September 23 will be the last day with summer-like high temperatures. The very next day, atmospheric circulation will change: instead of a warm southern flow, cold air from the north will begin to dominate, which will signal a rapid transition of seasons.

In particular, in Cherkasy region and in the central regions, the temperature will drop by 8–10°C. Due to dense cloudiness, the daytime air will not warm up above +14…+19°C, and strong gusts of wind will only intensify the feeling of cold.

Starting from September 25, an anticyclone from northwestern Europe, named Petralilly, will arrive in the region. It will bring clear but cool autumn air. At night, the temperature will drop to +2…+7°C, and frost is likely on the ground surface in some places.

The cold trend will continue on September 26 and 27, so it’s worth preparing warm clothes and monitoring the forecast.

As a reminder, on Wednesday, the influence of a cold front will provoke contrasting and unstable weather. Short-term rains are expected in the northern and western regions, with thunderstorms in places , while the rest of Ukraine will be dry and partly cloudy.
