The enemy is advancing on Zaporizhia: Stepnohirsk is under threat of capture

Russian troops have intensified offensive operations in the south, focusing their efforts on attempts to take control of the city of Stepnohirsk, which is of strategic importance for further attacks on Zaporizhia and its surroundings.

This was announced on TV by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Colonel Vladyslav Voloshyn, Ukrinform reports.

According to Voloshin, the enemy is trying to bypass Stepnogorsk from the eastern direction, effectively paving a new axis of attack.
Russian forces are storming the western outskirts of Stepovoye, advancing along the former shore of the Kakhovka Reservoir — in particular through Kamianske, Plavne, and Primorske.

“The occupiers are seeking to gain a foothold in the Stepnohirsk area in order to create a foothold for further pressure on the logistics and infrastructure of Zaporizhia,” the spokesman emphasized.

Colonel Voloshyn emphasized: if the enemy manages to advance in this direction, the eastern and southern outskirts of Zaporizhia, as well as key transport routes leading from the city to the east, may be under fire control.

“This is not only a threat to the city, but also to the destruction of logistical arteries. In particular, attacks by kamikaze drones of the Lancet and Molniya types, which can already reach the suburbs of Zaporizhia,” the spokesman added.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold defensive lines, but the situation remains tense.

As a reminder, Russian troops occupied three settlements in Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions , and also advanced near two villages.

As reported, Russia is preparing assault attacks on Stepovoe – the occupiers are replenishing the companies with mobilized troops.
