The enemy is stuck near Kupyansk: the National Guard reported on the real state of affairs

Anatoliy, call sign “Ajax”, who leads the crew of unmanned aerial systems of the “Typhoon” special unit of the National Guard of Ukraine, denied information about the occupation of Kupyansk. The situation in the settlement remains under control, although the enemy does not abandon attempts to destabilize the defense.

The serviceman reported this on the air of “Pryamoy”.

“In fact, the situation is now stabilizing in the city of Kupyansk itself. Enemy sabotage groups are being located and neutralized by defense forces,” the fighter emphasized.

Ajax noted that the city was under the control of the invaders only once at the beginning of a full-scale invasion, and after the successful operation to liberate the Kharkiv region, the settlement remains under the Ukrainian flag.

“Currently, the defenders are focused on detecting isolated enemy groups trying to infiltrate the city, so there is currently no talk of any large-scale seizure or enemy control over the city,” the military officer informs.

At the same time, he reported that Russian troops are adapting their assault operations to difficult meteorological conditions, trying to bypass Ukrainian positions during bad weather. “They are trying to pass between our units, to gain a foothold somewhere, to gather somewhere. They are trying to use this tactic more often when there is heavy fog, snow, that is, when UAVs are unable to fly,” Ajax explained.

According to the National Guardsman, the enemy moves in tiny groups of two or three people: when visibility is minimal due to blizzards, they seep through gaps in the defense to accumulate forces at a certain point. And only after the formation of a numerical detachment do the occupiers try to develop a further offensive, the studio guest added.

The soldier separately highlighted the situation in Vovchansk, where a significant part of the territory is already occupied, which creates significant difficulties for maintaining advantageous defensive lines compared to other areas.

As a reminder, units of the “Charter” brigade have established control over the Kupyansk city council building. The national flag of Ukraine has been raised above the city hall in the city center. According to the National Guard, the “Charter” search and strike group together with the “Kupyansk” tactical group are completing the clearing of the city after a successful operation to unblock it.

In early January, it was reported that the final phase of the operation to clear the city of Russian troops was underway in Kupyansk, with fewer than a hundred soldiers remaining. The Russian troops found themselves completely surrounded and facing serious supply problems.
