The enemy’s goal is to reach the outskirts of Zaporizhia: the Russians are preparing a bridgehead for an offensive in the Orikhiv direction

The Russian army makes daily attempts to capture Kamianske and Plavni in the Zaporizhia region and reach the outskirts of Primorske for a further offensive.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, in a comment to Ukrinform.

“In the direction of Primorske-Plavni-Kamenske, the enemy conducts its assault operations every day, trying to finally capture the settlements of Kamianske and Plavni, and is trying to reach the outskirts of Primorske,” the spokesman noted.

He explained that the goal of the occupiers is to create a bridgehead in the Orikhiv direction for a further offensive on Stepnohirsk.

In addition, the Russians plan to advance along the former Kakhovka reservoir to the village of Kushugum, as well as Balabyne, which is adjacent to the outskirts of Zaporizhia.

“The Ukrainian Defense Forces are actively resisting this, conducting search and strike operations, destroying enemy groups that are trying to break into these settlements,” Voloshyn summarized.

As a reminder, Russian occupation forces are expanding the zone of control on the front , in particular, analysts have recorded advances on the border of Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions, as well as in the Donetsk region.

By the way, in the past day, in the Orikhiv direction, the invaders tried six times to advance on the positions of Ukrainian troops in the Kamianske area and towards Malaya Tokmachka and Novodanylivka.
