Successful strikes on Russian military targets in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea and deep inside the Russian Federation are the result of systematic and planned work, not isolated actions.
This was reported on the air of “Pryamoye” by military journalist and former speaker of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladyslav Seleznyov.
According to him, the destruction of the MiG-29 fighter at the Kacha airfield and the Irtysh radar complex is only part of a large-scale campaign to destroy enemy potential, which is preceded by thorough reconnaissance.
“This is only a small component of the systematic and planned work on the destruction of enemy military facilities in the territories of temporarily occupied Crimea and Sevastopol,” the former spokesman for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted.
Seleznev emphasized that the effective activities of intelligence, special forces and the partisan movement allow obtaining accurate information for strikes. The geography of these operations is constantly expanding, covering not only the peninsula, but also the Black Sea coast of the Russian Federation, in particular the Tuapse and Novorossiysk regions. Moreover, Ukrainian drones are already reaching military facilities in the North Caucasus, in particular in the territory of Chechnya, which indicates the expansion of the zone of influence of the Defense Forces.
The key goal of such attacks, according to the journalist, is to “gouge out the eyes” of the enemy’s air defense system. This paves the way for further, even deeper strikes on objects that are critically important for the Russian occupation army, weakening its combat capability, Vladislav Seleznev added.
As a reminder, the special unit of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s GUR “Primary” destroyed a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet at the Kacha military airfield in occupied Crimea. This happened on the night of December 4, 2025.
That same night, special forces fighters also struck the Irtysh airfield radar complex near temporarily occupied Simferopol. The GUR emphasizes that the “Ghosts” are systematically weakening Russian air defense on the peninsula, destroying radars and anti-aircraft systems, and now also aviation.
