European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen strongly condemned the massive rocket attack on Kyiv on August 28, calling it “the deadliest attack on the Ukrainian capital since July.” The shelling killed civilians, including children, and debris hit the EU Delegation nearby.

“I am outraged by the attack on Kyiv, which also affected the European Union Delegation. Two missiles fell just 50 meters from its location. The interval between the strikes was 20 seconds. This is not a coincidence,” von der Leyen said.

According to her, such actions are further proof that the Kremlin “will stop at nothing in its terrorist war against Ukraine” and is ready to strike even at European institutions.

As a reminder, on the night of August 28 , Kyiv was subjected to one of the largest attacks in recent months . Russian troops simultaneously used strike drones, ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as hypersonic “Daggers”, which led to large-scale destruction in several areas of the city. In the morning, it became known about four deaths, including two children, and more than two dozen people were injured.

As reported later, the death toll in Kyiv as a result of a combined attack by Russian troops on the night of August 28 increased to 17 people.

By the way, after the nighttime missile strike on Kyiv, which killed at least 12 people, including children, the Kremlin not only did not admit guilt, but also called the attack a “successful operation.”
