€90 Billion for Ukraine Moves Forward as EU Signals Major Financial Commitment

Ukraine and the European Union continue negotiations on a memorandum of understanding that will pave the way for macro-financial assistance within the framework of a 90 billion loan.

This was reported by “European Pravda,” citing the European Commission’s spokesman, Balázs Ujvari.

According to him, the parties still have to finalize three documents, but the most ready one is the memorandum of understanding on macro-financial assistance to Ukraine.

“We’re not quite there yet, but we’ve made significant progress,” Ujvari noted.

He explained that this memorandum is based on three key areas: the current agreed program with the IMF, the implementation of economic reforms, and the fulfillment of certain political conditions.

The European Commission spokesperson also emphasized that negotiations with Ukraine are proceeding constructively.

“Negotiations are going very well. Give us some time, and then, hopefully, very soon we will be able to give the final green light,” said Balázs Ujvari.

As previously reported, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke with journalists and outlined the situation with EU funding, weapons supplies, and responses to Russian attacks.
