The European Union is preparing a new, 19th package of restrictions against the Kremlin. It is expected to cover the financial sector, cryptocurrency transactions and energy, continuing the policy of reducing dependence on Russian resources. The presentation of the restrictions may take place as early as September 19, but Brussels officially announces only a “swift adoption.”

At the same time, the European Commission’s Deputy Chief Spokesperson, Olof Gill, emphasized that the details are still being agreed upon.
“We cannot go beyond what the president said in her message on the social network. We will work to accelerate the process of separating the EU from Russian energy carriers,” he commented on the statement of the President of the European Commission in H.
According to him, the 19th package of sanctions will be presented “soon” and will include specific measures to restrict Moscow’s access to energy resources and financial instruments.
As Politico reported, Brussels has suddenly slowed down the progress of a new package of restrictions against Russia . The 19th sanctions package, which was planned to be presented on September 17, has been removed from the agenda, and the European Commission has not announced a new date for its consideration.
