The European Solidarity office was targeted in a raider attack involving pro-government Telegram channels.
The office of the European Solidarity party has been subjected to a corporate raid – under pressure from the authorities, the owners of the premises, who have business interests in Russia, are attempting to forcibly evict the main opposition party.
The event was recorded by journalists from the Pryamoy TV channel.
On October 23 at 10:00 a.m., a group of people accompanied by police and a film crew from the 1+1 television channel arrived at the Lavrsky Business Center in Kyiv, where the European Solidarity headquarters are located. Among them were a private bailiff, representatives of the business center’s owner, and several “support” people who refused to identify themselves.
Their goal is to infiltrate and raid part of the premises where the reception office of People’s Deputy Nikolai Velichkovich is located under a sublease agreement, according to a report by Pryamoy .
Journalists note that those who carried out the business center owner’s arbitrary whim, citing a court ruling, refused to accept the MP’s statement that his workplace was located there.
Although they do not have the authority or the appropriate documents to enter the public reception area, they break the locks and enter the premises.
Empty offices and workstations indicate that the “ES” party complied with the court’s order and has not occupied the premises for some time. However, subtenants were located there, and their rights were denied. They ignore the fact that the premises were used by both a member of parliament and a lawyer, with appropriate protections for attorney-client privilege.
“This is an obstruction of the activities of a member of parliament, who has important items and correspondence there. We can draw up a report on obstruction of the activities of a member of parliament,” stated a representative of European Solidarity MP Mykola Velychkovich.
Moreover, the violation of the subtenants’ rights took place in the presence of the police.
As it turns out, this isn’t the first time the owner of the Lavrsky business center has used security forces to raid premises.
This is how the Berkut riot police raided an old shoe factory, on whose premises the current business center was built. Its owner is the controversial developer Yevgeny Besarab, who built his development business by managing and implementing projects for pro-Russian politician David Zhvania.
Besarab’s name is, in particular, associated with the scandal surrounding the development of Protasovy Yar, which Hero of Ukraine Roman Ratushny once fought against.
Moreover, Bessarab continued to conduct business in Russia even after the aggression began in 2014.
That the authorities are behind the attack on the opposition party is evidenced not only by the Portnov court’s decision, but also by the presence of the only authorized television channel, “1+1,” whose story was amplified by anonymous Telegram channels, pro-government resources, and bloggers.
