The European Union is actively preparing for war with Russia: details

The EU has begun active preparations for a potential war with Russia — the European Commission has developed a plan to prepare countries for combat readiness by 2030.

The document, which the news agency reviewed, states that European countries should coordinate their defense spending and quickly create coalitions to jointly implement new defense programs.

In particular, the plan envisages that by the end of 2027, EU countries will carry out 40% of their defense procurement jointly. This figure is more than double the current figure.

“Authoritarian states are increasingly interfering in our societies and economies. Traditional allies and partners are shifting their focus to other regions of the world. A militarized Russia poses a constant threat to European security in the near future,” the document states.

The plan could change along the way. The EU will present it on Thursday, and leaders will discuss the proposal at a summit in Brussels next week.

“Tomorrow we will propose clear targets and milestones to close capability gaps, accelerating defence investment in all member states,” said commission spokesman Thomas Rainier.

Europe is focusing on air and missile defense, drones and means to combat them and will apply Ukraine’s experience, and there is also talk of creating coalitions to manage these projects, which are to be launched by the middle of next year.

Instead, all contracts and financing must be concluded by the end of 2028 to meet the deadline and prepare for 2030.

The EU has already agreed a €150 billion fund to help finance the build-up of Europe’s military strength.

At the same time, it is also proposed to create a fund of up to 1 billion euros with the European Investment Bank by 2026 to support defense projects.

Recall that the European Union is preparing to strengthen the bloc’s eastern borders by using unmanned aerial vehicles.
