The European Union revised tariffs on Ukrainian dairy products, fruits and meat: details
The European Union has decided to reduce customs duties on certain types of agricultural products imported from Ukraine. The changes took place as part of the revision of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
This was reported by the press service of the Council of the European Union.
According to the decision, the European Union reduces duties on dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as meat and meat semi-finished products of Ukrainian origin.
Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, whose country holds the presidency of the European Union until December 31, 2025, noted that trade liberalization is part of comprehensive support for Ukraine.
“We are helping Ukraine militarily and financially, but we also need to help it by facilitating trade liberalization. Both the EU and Ukraine will benefit from the abolition of customs duties, which will contribute to lasting economic stability, strong trade relations and further integration of Ukraine with the Union,” said Lars Løkke Rasmussen.
At the same time, Ukraine undertakes to harmonize with European Union standards the issues of animal welfare, the use of pesticides, and the use of veterinary drugs in production.
At the same time, there are no plans to reduce duties on eggs, wheat, sugar, corn, and honey.
