The European Union will allocate 40 million euros to help Ukraine: where will the funds be directed?

The European Commission will provide 40 million euros, which will be used for humanitarian assistance for Ukrainians.

This was reported by the EC press service.

In particular, European partners will provide shelter materials, repair damaged houses and centers for displaced persons, and improve access to water, sanitation, and heating.

The funding will include cash assistance, solid fuel, heating appliances and insulation, as well as emergency heating points.

Special attention will be paid to vulnerable categories – children, people with disabilities, pensioners, displaced families living in shared housing.

Thanks to the new support, the European Commission will strengthen Ukraine’s winter preparedness and protect the civilian population from the cold.

“We must stand united in solidarity, step up our collective humanitarian response and protect the most vulnerable in the cold months ahead. With this additional €40 million, we reaffirm our commitment to the people of Ukraine – solidarity, humanity and determination,” said Haja Lahbib, Commissioner for Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management.

We will remind you that Ukraine recently received another tranche of financial assistance in the amount of 1 billion euros from the European Union .
