“The final decision is up to Trump”: the US is considering the possibility of supplying Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine

US Vice President J.D. Vance said that discussions are ongoing in Washington regarding the possible supply of Tomahawk precision cruise missiles to Ukraine, but the final decision on this issue depends on former President Donald Trump.

This is reported by Fox News.

The United States is in active discussions about the possibility of transferring Tomahawk missiles, which are capable of accurately hitting strategic targets at long distances, to Ukraine. US Vice President J.D. Vance clarified that while the technical and strategic aspects are already being worked out, the final decision on the supply will rest with former President Donald Trump.

Vance noted that the transfer of such missiles could significantly strengthen Ukraine’s defense potential in a war against Russia, but it is necessary to take into account the international consequences and the political situation in the United States.

According to him, the discussions also concern a number of other requests from European partners, which demonstrates Europe’s active role in supporting Ukraine and the peace settlement process.

“We are no longer just providing huge amounts of money and weapons. We are asking Europeans to buy these weapons. This shows that Europeans are also in this game,” Vance emphasized.

He added that the war in Ukraine is extremely costly for Russia, and Moscow must assess how many people it is willing to lose and kill for a small military advantage.

Vance stressed that discussions are ongoing and any decisions will be made taking into account all political, strategic and international factors. At the same time, he noted that the delivery of Tomahawks could be a key step in strengthening Ukraine’s defenses and strengthening its position in negotiations for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

On the eve, US Vice President J.D. Vance said that Russia continues to kill people in Ukraine without achieving significant military results. He emphasized that Moscow refuses any bilateral or trilateral negotiations with the Ukrainian side, hindering the establishment of peace.

As is known, Ukraine has repeatedly asked the US to transfer long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles, but the White House has not yet agreed. At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that the presence of Tomahawks in the hands of the Armed Forces of Ukraine could force the Kremlin to sit down at the negotiating table .
