The financial support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine must be increased: Poroshenko told where to get the money and how much the Russians spend on the army

Petro Poroshenko, in an interview with Vitaly Portnikov, said that the state budget must be urgently revised to increase financial motivation for the military. He noted that a warring country cannot afford to finance the political whims of the authorities.

“The position we have now is a requirement not only to strengthen the Armed Forces, which the budget does not do. A key component of strengthening is building a wartime economy or transferring the economy to wartime rails. An economy to wartime rails and a single marathon are incompatible. Financing the telegram channels of the President’s Office is incompatible. Financing the communication strategy for 4 billion is incompatible. Financing an increase in salaries for prosecutors and SBI officers, and the army – no, incompatible. Financing corrupt enterprises close to the government and leaving real producers without purchases is incompatible,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

He noted that the budget that was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, which Poroshenko strongly opposed, was not only because the Armed Forces were underfunded.

“The key position is that there is no motivation for mobilization. Do you know how much a Russian serviceman who is contracted to the army today receives? This is information based on intelligence databases – from 20 to 45 thousand dollars. Plus regional supplements, which range from 500 to 3 million rubles. This is an army of mercenaries. We are an army that has the motivation to defend its land. They are an army that has not yet added mobilization resources,” Poroshenko said.

The fifth president added that we should give the first payment when concluding a contract and the first payment when a person is mobilized. Pay it within 4-6 months. Because this is the most difficult for a mobilized person. The first month, two, three. This is the first motivational one-time payment. He also emphasized that it is necessary to index the monetary support of military personnel.

“Nothing can be an excuse when we have 100 billion, and now we have submitted a bill for 100 billion, proposed to reduce expenditures, these 100 billion will definitely be enough for both motivation and indexation,” Poroshenko is convinced.

The Fifth President also emphasized that even after the end of the war, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be the main guarantor of Ukraine’s statehood.

“The only reliable guarantor of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence of the state will be the Armed Forces and the defense industry of Ukraine, which will be financed at the expense of what? At the expense of a powerful, transparent, and effective post-industrial economy,” Poroshenko believes.

The day before, Petro Poroshenko handed over 1,500 tires and two tire assembly complexes to 24 brigades of the Defense Forces .
