The first Euro-gauge train departed from Uzhhorod to Vienna and Budapest

On September 12, the first train on the European track on the international route “Uzhgorod – Budapest – Vienna” departed from the station in Uzhgorod.

This is reported by Suspilne.

The route was officially opened last week, after which Ukrzaliznytsia launched ticket sales. The fare to the Hungarian capital is UAH 1,220 in second class and UAH 1,802 in first.

The international train consists of six cars, which are divided by direction:
– two are heading to Bratislava,
– four — to Budapest (with further continuation to Vienna).

First flight occupancy:

Bratislava direction:
▪️ 61 out of 64 tickets sold
▪️ 10 tickets — purchased in Uzhhorod
▪️ 51 tickets — in Chop

Direction Vienna (via Budapest):
▪️ 157 places out of 170 are already occupied
▪️ 32 passengers boarded in Uzhhorod
▪️ 125 more — purchased tickets in Chop

As a reminder, Ukrzaliznytsia announced the launch of five additional trains that will run to various regions of Ukraine in the fall . The new schedule should facilitate travel during peak dates and provide more opportunities for passengers planning trips to the West and East of the country.
