The first teaser for “Harry Potter” is already online: what is known about the series

The first teaser for the new Harry Potter series has appeared on HBO Max’s YouTube channel. The premiere of the first season, which adapts the book “Philosopher’s Stone”, is scheduled for Christmas 2026.

The project is designed for seven seasons — each will correspond to a separate part of the story.

The series stars young actors: Dominic McLaughlin will play Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton will play Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout will play Ron Weasley. Draco Malfoy will be played by Lox Pratt, and his father by Johnny Flynn.

The cast has also been joined by well-known actors: John Lithgow (Dumbledore), Paapa Essiedu (Snape), Janet McTeer (McGonegal), and Nick Frost (Hagrid).

Others include Paul Whitehouse, Catherine Parkinson, as well as Bela Powley and Daniel Rigby, who will play the Dursley family.

The role of the main antagonist remains vacant for now. Earlier, rumors appeared online that Voldemort could be played by Cillian Murphy, but there is no official confirmation of this yet.

As a reminder, the streaming service HBO continues to expand the cast of the upcoming Harry Potter series . New actors have joined the project.
