Lionsgate has released the trailer for “Michael,” a film about the life and work of musician Michael Jackson. The film is scheduled for release on April 24, 2026.

According to Variety, the lead role is played by 28-year-old Jafar Jackson, the musician’s nephew. According to the production team, he portrays his famous uncle remarkably well. The film also stars Kendrick Sampson, Miles Teller, Colman Domingo, Nia Long, Jessica Sula, Larenz Tate, Laura Harrier, and Kat Graham.

The minute-long video begins with footage from the studio, where Jackson is with his mentor Quincy Jones.

“I know you’ve been waiting for this for a long time. The tracks are written, the songs are ready. Let’s start from the beginning,” the producer says.

The video features Jackson’s famous songs “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’” and “Billie Jean.” You can also see Jackson’s iconic moonwalk and a reference to the “Thriller” music video.

As a reminder, it was previously announced that the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has decided to resume her acting career after her wedding to Prince Harry. She appeared for the first time in several years on the set of Amazon’s new film, “Close Personal Friends.”
