Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha congratulated the US and Iran on the ceasefire and the unblocking of the Strait of Hormuz.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this on social media.
“We welcome the agreement between US President Donald Trump and the Iranian regime to unblock the Strait of Hormuz and establish a ceasefire, as well as Pakistan’s mediation efforts. American resolve is working. We are convinced that the time has come to demonstrate sufficient resolve to compel Moscow to a ceasefire and end the war against Ukraine,” he said.
According to the minister, this agreement demonstrates the effectiveness of decisive action by international partners and can serve as an example for achieving peace in Ukraine.
It was previously reported that, amid the US-Israeli operation against Iran, negotiations to end the war between Russia and Ukraine have effectively stalled, as the US , as the key mediator, has focused on the Middle East.
In addition, it is noted that the negotiations between the US and Iran, as well as between Ukraine and Russia, were conducted by the same special representatives of the US president , Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff .
As a reminder, Iran confirmed a two-week ceasefire with the United States and stated its readiness to open the Strait of Hormuz for this period.
