The head of Russia’s Federal Security Service, Alexander Bortnikov, personally coordinates information operations aimed at worsening Ukrainian-Polish relations.

This was reported by the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Andriy Kovalenko.

According to him, Russian intelligence services are preparing a large-scale information operation aimed at inflaming tensions between Ukraine and Poland. On July 5, the FSB plans to release falsified documents related to the events of World War II, specifically the Volyn tragedy.

“Russian FSB officers are planning to publish falsified documents about the events of World War II, specifically the Volyn tragedy, in an attempt to undermine Ukrainian-Polish relations,” Kovalenko stated.

He noted that such information operations are part of a broader Kremlin strategy aimed at dividing Ukraine’s allies and weakening the unity of Western partners.

On the eve of July 3, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk also warned of growing Russian threats. During a press conference in Warsaw, he stated that Russia was attempting to test NATO’s readiness to defend member states bordering Russia.

According to Tusk, the coming months could prove critical, especially for the Baltic states. He commented on media reports about Russia’s possible plans to carry out a limited military provocation in Poland.
